Immigration through entrepreneurship in the province of Quebec
This program allows eligible people to establish or start their own business in the province of Quebec, which leads to obtaining permanent residence in Canada. Also, at the same time as the main applicant, first-degree family members, including spouses and dependent children under 22 years of age, will receive Canadian permanent residence.
This program can be done in two ways:
Route 1:
If you have received a service offer from accelerator institutions (incubators) or academic entrepreneurship centers to create and run a business, you must settle in Quebec and start your business. You can do your project alone or with others, up to three other foreign nationals who have applied as entrepreneurs for the same project.
You must present your business project in the form of a business plan that defines the details of the business, mentions the reasons for the possibility of achieving the goals, and presents the programs that are followed to achieve these goals.
Route 2:
To take this route, you must have a net worth of at least 900,000 Canadian dollars alone or with your spouse, and you must prove that this money was obtained legally.
You must present your project in the form of a business plan.
If you decide to start a business, you must own and control at least 25% of its capital. If you decide to buy a business, you must own and control at least 51% of its capital.
Your business must have been active for five years prior to the date of your application.
Please note that you cannot purchase a business from an immigrant selected as an entrepreneur under the program in the five years prior to submitting your application.
Your business should not be in the following activities:
- Payday loans, check cashing
- Real estate development or real estate brokerage or insurance
- Producing, distributing, or selling pornographic or immoral products or services related to the sex industry.
Your application will also be reviewed based on other factors and criteria, including:
- your age
- Your education level
- Your French and English language skills
- Your financial self-sufficiency
- Your visit to Quebec
- Your family stay in Quebec
In general, if you intend to immigrate to Canada through entrepreneurship in Quebec, our suggestion is to have an exploratory trip to this province first.
Although the exploratory trip is not mandatory for this program, it will help you to get a clear view of the labor market and the economic and social system of this province. In this case, you can better take control of your project and be more successful in developing the main components of your business plan.
