Who is a home nurse and what are her duties?

Home nurses are people who are responsible for taking care of children, elderly or disabled people. Their duties and responsibilities vary according to the person they care for and include the following:

  • Meeting the basic needs of a person, including feeding, dressing, bathing, etc

Necessary requirements for immigrating to Canada (except Quebec province) through the home nurse program:

  • Having a job offer from a qualified employer in Canada
  • Having a certificate in English or French at CLB 5 level
    Having an educational qualification at least one year higher than a diploma in related fields
  • Having relevant work experience

 

This program includes two subgroups:

  • Babysitter at home (NOC 4411)
  • who should take care of children under the age of 18 in their home or in the employer’s home as a home nurse. Of course, they do not need to live in their employer’s house to be eligible.
  • Home Caregiver for the Elderly or Disabled (NOC 4412)
  • The applicant must take care of an elderly or disabled person at his or her employer’s home
  • He does not have to live in his employer’s home to be eligible
  • Only home nurses are eligible under NOC 4412
  • Work experience as a mere housewife does not count
